Civil Ceremonies

Up to four hours and 40 guests for a legal ceremony
and drinks or dinner reception

Mid-April - Mid-October

Our civil ceremony package comes with private use of the stunning Walled Garden, and the Summerhouse Garden which overlooks the fairytale woodland and stream. Unlike traditional registry offices, you won't feel the rush to leave before the next couple arrives. You can take your time exchanging your vows, and then relax with friends and family over drinks and nibbles, lunch or dinner in a peaceful and romantic setting.

You can book for any time until 7pm. We would suggest a morning booking, such as 11am, if you have plans to party elsewhere in the evening. Otherwise, you could say your vows around 2 or 3pm and settle in until the late afternoon.

Please note, this package does not include on-site accommodation but you can book this separately if you wish.
See more information on the gardens below and pricing here.

Walled Garden
A breathtaking space for your ceremony or drinks reception.
Enter through the castellated archway into an ornate English garden full of colourful flowers. Spring blooms with Tulips and impressive white and purple wisteria, whimsically draped along the walls. The garden stays alive though summer and autumn, from clematis and roses, to honeysuckle, buddleia, lilacs, salvia, peonies, lavender and more.
Taking centre stage is the Catalpa Tree with its heart shaped leaves, where you could choose to say your vows
surrounded by your closest loved ones.
The civil ceremony package comes with up to 40 chairs, and ample space for live acoustic musicians, canapés, a small garden tent and more. You could choose to have your whole ceremony and reception here, or also make use of the Summerhouse Garden and Drawing Room described below.

Summerhouse Garden
& Drawing Room
Featuring a beautifully manicured lawn and surrounded by lush greens and flowers, the Summerhouse Garden is the perfect spot for a relaxed afternoon of drinks and nibbles under the sun.
Framing the garden, stands the Drawing Room, a quintessentially British period room with elegant furnishing and decor highlighting the residence's rich Georgian history.
The Drawing Room and gardens overlook a small whimsical woodland leading down to a quaint stream and pond. In Spring, expect to find daffodils, wild garlic, bluebells and plenty of birdlife. In Summer, the stream bursts into life with lush green borders and colourful flowers. And in Autumn, golds and oranges glow in the reflection of the water under pretty sunset skies.
Civil ceremony packages come with exclusive use of the Summerhouse Garden, access to the Drawing Room and indoor washroom facilities, and our beautiful Raj tent which can be put up for shade or protection from wet weather. You can add to the ambience with acoustic background music, such as from a harpist, guitar, piano or string musician.
